Navigate from issue to model location, viewpoint, and related information.

PHASE-AWARE BY DESIGN
Navigate from issue to model location, viewpoint, and related information.
Use assignments, statuses, due dates, and workflows to clarify responsibility.
Track review, approval, communication, and resolution from one connected workflow.
Clash detection & clash resolution
Clashes detected in BIMcollab Zoom become owned, trackable Smart Issues the moment they're created. IDS findings follow the same path. Every follow-up step stays connected to the model, from assignment through to approval.

Model location & viewpoints
Quickly see where the problems are by keeping issues connected to the exact model locations and viewpoints they affect. Navigate from an issue to its context in one click. No more screenshots, guesswork, or chasing colleagues for clarification.

Structured issue workflows
Structure issue resolution through assignments, statuses, and due dates so every team knows who owns what, what's overdue, and what's blocking progress. Coordination becomes accountable when responsibilities are unambiguous are clear.

Search & findability
Quickly locate issues, related context, and project information so coordination keeps moving forward without unnecessary friction. See where issues are concentrated in the 3D model with issue pins. Or, filter by status, assignee, discipline, or location to surface exactly what matters.

Approval workflows
Manage review states and approval progression so project information moves through coordination workflows in a controlled and traceable way. Prevent premature sign-off by governing status changes at every step.

Communication & coordination
Comments, questions, tasks, and updates stay linked to the issue and model context they relate to. Teams collaborate more efficiently when communication lives inside the coordination workflow. This is the end of scattered communication spread across email, chat, and shared drives.

Issues are connected to model context, viewpoints, status, ownership, communication, and approval history, rather than sitting in a disconnected list. Issue resolution is systematically communicated with all team members, keeping everyone aligned throughout the issue management process.
Smart Issues in BIMcollab Zoom replace traditional clash reports with intelligent, trackable data. They remember the specific clashes, corresponding model elements, and issue statuses, allowing them to automatically check and update their resolution status when new model versions are uploaded.
You first run your clash tests or rule sets in BIMcollab Zoom, then select the detected conflicts and report them as Smart Issues.
When a newer version of the model is uploaded, Smart Issues will scan the new model and determine if the original clash still exists. Issue statuses will automatically update or allow you to easily close them if resolved.
Then, push the updated issue statuses back to the cloud so all stakeholders remain aligned.
Yes, you need BIMcollab Zoom to create, check, and automatically update Smart Issues in the BIMcollab platform (our online environment).
While regular issues (standard BCF-based tickets) can be created anywhere within the BIMCollab ecosystem, Smart Issues rely on the underlying clash-detection and geometry engine built into the BIMcollab Zoom desktop application.
Yes. The intended workflow is that clashes and validation findings become trackable issues with ownership and resolution context.
Model validation is about finding quality problems. Issue management explains how those findings become coordinated, accountable actions.
For complex projects and multi-team environments, a demo is the fastest way to map this capability to your real coordination process. If you want to test it out for yourself, you can start a free trial immediately.
