Start your COBie workflow with confidence

Getting started with COBie does not have to be difficult. Our new BIMcollab COBie preparation toolkit brings together a collection of checking resources, specially designed to help you review and validate asset information for COBie deliveries directly in BIMcollab Zoom.

Our toolkit is not designed for last-minute reviews. Instead, it encourages teams to integrate COBie validation into their OpenBIM workflows from the early stages of a project.

Ready to get started? Visit our Help Center to download the BIMcollab COBie preparation toolkit and start building better COBie workflows.

Make coordination meetings more productive with Issue Pins

Finding and understanding Issues is much easier when you can see them directly in your model. Issue Pins use practical visual markers to display your Issues and Conflicts in the WebViewer, without switching between endless lists and plain viewpoints.

These allow teams to quickly recognize problematic areas and identify issues’ status at a glance. Simply click a pin to access additional details and gain a better understanding of the issue or conflict in its model context. Would you like to give it a try? See if Issues pins are part of your subscription plan and access our Help Center to get more details.

Measure with confidence using grids

Make use of the point-to-point measurement tool in the WebViewer to easily get perpendicular distances between your components and grids in your project.

Spend less time navigating your model

Standard views let you instantly return to predefined camera positions. Combine them with Orthographic mode to review models from consistent viewpoints during coordination sessions.

Keep your team aligned with shared Smart Views

Consistency is key during model coordination. When Smart Views are shared through a BIMcollab project, every team member can access the same review criteria, visual filters, and saved property rules. Instead of creating validation checks individually, coordinators can prepare Smart Views once and share them with the entire project team.

Advice from BIMcollab experts:

"At our Inspire & Connect event in Hamburg, a customer shared how their team uses IDS validation in Zoom as a precheck before running Lists: 'I'll be honest, I was flabbergasted.'

The logic is simple but brilliant: before they run and share their Lists, they first fire a quick IDS check across all incoming models to confirm the required properties are available and correct. Only when the IDS passes do they run the Lists and share with the team. IDS used as a coordination gate, not just a quality tool."
